Electric Formula 1 cars?

Is it really so far off, electric Formula 1 cars? That is the apparent direction we are heading. I honestly don't know what to think of that. They have the potential to be faster, but it would detract from the sport probably. I mean think of pit stops...changing tires would be about it.

Well not only the pit stops, but the sound would be gone. All of the wonderful internal combustion technology would be thrown out the window. I think the sport should focus more on fuel efficiency. This would be a much better way to go than electric. F1 won't go electric for at least 50 or 60 years. I don't think we need to worry about it. But it will be interesting to see what happens when the engine freeze is taken off, because we'll have a new FIA president.
